Congratulations to our Fall 2025 Graduates!

Congratulations to the NC State CCEE Fall 2025 graduating class! Friends and family gathered at the McKimmon Center on December 12, 2025 to celebrate this outstanding group of 61 undergraduate and 28 graduate students.

AbbyGayle Jernigan, a graduating senior in structural engineering, served as the Chi Epsilon student speaker.

”I also want to encourage you to be lifelong learners,” said AbbyGayle Jernigan. “Just because we got the degree does not mean we know it all. There will be so many opportunities in our jobs, and of course grad school, to gain way more knowledge than we even know existed… In the future if you face something difficult, you can say, ‘This is nothing, I made it through engineering school at NC State.’”

Pete Jernigan, a 1990 graduate and member of the NC State CEEE Alumni Hall of Fame (and AbbyGayle’s father!), served as the graduation guest speaker. A leader in business and the broader engineering community, he offered some wise words to this year’s graduates.

“You live your purpose,” said Pete Jernigan. “Whatever your purpose is, you live that. I’m 60. I can look in the mirror right now and I can say, ‘I lived my purpose.’ You do that too.”

The Jernigan family

The Jernigan family, including father, Pete, mother, Gayle and sisters Sara, Elizabeth and AbbyGayle were named the 2025 Wolfpack Family of the Year! It is an honor to have both Pete and AbbyGayle serve as representatives for our department, the College of Engineering and NC State.
